National Municipal Stormwater Alliance (NMSA) Webinar - Supreme Court Rulings Impact on Stormwater
The National Municipal Stormwater Alliance (NMSA) is hosting a free webinar on Fri, Feb 28 from 12-1:30 (Eastern) focusing on Supreme Court of the US (SCOTUS) rulings impacting stormwater.
The SCOTUS has heard arguments and made recent rulings that have direct impacts on the stormwater sector. The twin rulings of Loper Bright Enterprises v. Secretary of Commerce and Corner Post v. Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is redefining how administrative law will address federal regulations and their impacts, including in the Clean Water sector.
Other cases, such as County of Maui v. Hawaii Wildlife Fund and Sackett v. EPA, are part of the shifting legal paradigm in the water sector. Most recently, the SCOTUS heard arguments in City and County of San Francisco v. EPA that are directly tied to the use of narrative standards in NPDES permits. A ruling on the San Francisco case is expected in May 2025 and could have major impacts on NPDES permits, including the MS4 program.
This webinar will bring together legal professionals in the Clean Water sector to provide detailed context on these actions taken by the SCOTUS and they will also discuss the potential impacts of these rulings in the stormwater sector.
NMSA will award 1.5 PDHs to webinar participants.
