Ciudad SWCD would like to express it's sincere gratitude to constituents for passing the ballot measure - thank you!  Ciudad SWCD will continue to  it's best ability to serve the people of our district with the highest quality of public service and education of natural resource management best practices. Furthermore, Ciudad SWCD is committed to stewarding these funds wisely.   Over the next few months, Ciudad SWCD will be undertake significant strategic planning in order to implement conservation programs that will serve our watershed  and constituents. Please stay tuned for more information about public engagement through the processes. 

Ciudad Soil and Water Conservation District (Ciudad SWCD) has proposed an annual levy up to .25 mills for natural resource and agriculture conservation, water protection, wildfire reduction, wildlife preservation, equitable access to the outdoors, and the general welfare of Ciudad SWCD residents.

Ciudad SWCD's Board of Supervisors passed a resolution on  July 15th, 2024 to propose the annual levy. The New Mexico Soil & Water Conservation Commission approved the Ciudad SWCD's mill levy referendum on August 1st, 2024. The resolution and the approval memo from the New Mexico Soil & Water Conservation Commission can be downloaded below.  During the 2024 General Election on November 5th, the ballot measure passed with 80% of consituents in favor.
